Ethics Case Study – 41

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) executive committee has decided to award the 2017 edition of the ISSF World Cup Finals (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun combined) to Delhi.

With absolutely no well-equipped stadium to boast of, a new stadium is proposed to be constructed along any of the major state and national highways passing through the city.

Though the city has Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indra Gandhi and Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, they are all situated in the heart of the city making it almost impossible for sports lovers to reach there during any major event.

Consequently, tenders are invited from various bidders to construct the new stadium. Once the tenders are submitted, they will be evaluated in order to arrive at the selection of the preferred bidder.

As the President of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), you have access to some confidential and crucial information about the bidding process that the Government is about to announce.

If the bidders have access to this information beforehand, they can make huge profits. One of the bidders has done a lot of quality work for the Government and is known to be close to your immediate superior, who asks you to disclose this information to the said bidder.
